Le P3RS est un réchaud à alcool réalisé à partir d'une canette de soda.

J'ai eu l'occasion d'en fabriquer un et de le tester en Ecosse et lors du Tour du Mont-Blanc.

• avantages :

- petit

- léger

- poids du combustible par rapport au gaz pour un même temps de chauffe

- permet d'emporter juste la quantité nécessaire de combustible

- facile à construire

- ne coûte quasiment rien (juste le prix d'une canette de soda)

• inconvénients :

- risque de retour de flamme !!! A manipuler avec PRECAUTIONS !!!

- hauteur de flamme non contrôlable

- s'arrête uniquement après combustion complète de l'alcool versé... pas de bouton stop !

- peut être difficile à allumer avec un briquet ou quand il y a beaucoup de vent

Le P3RS est un réchaud à alcool sous pression.

1. Une fois allumé, le réchaud va d'abord monter en température. C'est une phase souvent instable.
2. Progresseivement la flamme va diminuer et devenir bleue. La pression dans la chambre intérieure va être telle que les flammes vont sortir par les petits trous réalisés tout autour du P3RS en étant directement orientées vers la casserole. Le réchaud est alors particulièrement efficace.

3. Lorsque le combustible commence à manquer, la flamme diminue jusqu'à extinction du réchaud.

 ATTENTION : Toujours attendre que la totalité de l'alcool soit brûlé avant de rallumer le réchaud pour éviter tout retour de flamme !

CAUTION: Always wait until all the alcohol is burned to turn on the stove to avoid flashback!

         Pour protéger le réchaud du vent et contenir les flammes, j'utilise un pare-vent fabriqué à partir de feuilles de papier d'aluminium épais.                                                           

C'est léger, peu encombrant, bon marché et très efficace!
